In August 1910, the world was gripped by the sensational transatlantic hunt for Dr. Hawley Crippen who disappeared suddenly from England with his companion, Miss Le Neve, after being "charged with the murder and mutilation of his actress wife." In a dramatic retelling, the Democratic Banner (Mt.
